The main objective of the dam is to store and reuse the lye from Çatalagzi Thermal Power Plant. For this purpose, the body of the dam is made of clay core rockfill. Within the scope of the project to carry the lye; Dam Body Construction (Body type made of clay core rock fill), Access Tunnel (Horseshoe tunnel type, with reinforced concrete), Emergency Water Drain Channel, Stage I Force Main (Basalt Pipe), Stage II Force Main (Basalt Pipe) (pipe lengths are 1080 + 5697 = 6777 m), Valve Chambers, Pump Station Building, Recycling Line, Pipelines Steel Construction Bridge and Piers, Operation and Service Roads were made. The final acceptance of the contract was completed in 2010.
